Rooted Connections Inc., formerly known as Catholic Family Services (CFS) Regina, has a storied history dating back to 1934. Initiated by Archbishop Monahan’s vision and the dedicated efforts of the Sisters of St Martha of Antigonish, our organization started as a beacon of hope and support in Regina. We initially focused on providing essential services to single expectant mothers and establishing a social welfare agency, laying the groundwork for a community-centric approach to service.
Over the years, our organization underwent significant transformations. In 1947, we shifted towards a more independent model to diversify funding and extend our reach. This transition was further solidified in 1972 when the Sisters of St.Martha passed leadership to a team of professional counsellors and social workers, marking a new era of professional service delivery.
Our rebranding to Rooted Connections Inc. in March, 2024 symbolizes a commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and evolving with the community’s needs. This change, fueled by stakeholder insights, reflects our mission to be an accessible and welcoming resource for all, irrespective of faith or background. We honor our rich legacy while adapting to the dynamic needs of today’s families and individuals.
